Anne gets smart
Since she has already gone wild, it's time for Anne Hathaway to get smart. The actress has signed on to star in the new big-screen version of the popular 1960s small-screen series Get Smart. Anne will play Agent 99 opposite Steve Carell's secret agent Maxwell Smart. New Oscar winner Alan Arkin will play the chief of CONTROL, the organization that fights the evil forces of KAOS, and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Terrence Stamp will also star. But enough about them -- back to Anne. In the series, Agent 99 was the competent romantic foil to Maxwell Smart's bumbling lead. And she got to wear an assortment of kicky trench coats and stylish costumes. I say, smart move.

no reference to the blind item on page six? no "anne hathaway is a lesbian" reference at all??? ahhhhhh.
Anyone else hearing that Toto song '99' right now?
You know, I could swear that Barbara Feldon is a lesbian. I've read it a couple of places over the years but can only find a couple of mentions of it on google.
Anyway, Anne dear, this is no way to stop those pesky rumors. Just make sure Emily Blunt doesn't sign on as the evil lesbian supervillian (what is Jordana Brewster up to these days? ;)) and you'll be just fine!
With Anne, Steve (the bumbling 40 year-old virgin) and Terence (loved him in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert) on board, this should be a smarter and funnier version. Andy Sachs gets to wear fab costumes again.

99 was my single biggest TV crush of all time. I was five years old when I discovered her and now (huh-hmm years later) I still get it! I feel slightly nervous about a remake though. Even the original cast never managed to pull off a movie. Here's some Barbara Feldon trivia for you (I'm full of it, believe me!) she was actually something like an English major (I'm not sure what you call it in the US) who modelled to support her studies and fell into acting and she appeared on (and won, I think) one of those big US quiz shows years later, with the special subject of Shakespearean sonnets. So not only did she look hot in Mary Quant, she could melt your brain too. Sigh...my perfect woman.

but Anne and Emily should so be together *sighs* anywhoo, andy sachs has hit the clothes racks again, so watch those jaws lol

Anne Hathaway as Agent 99?...am getting the visual. LOL It could work, except I'd rather see Anne in a remake of The Avengers as Emma Peel w/ the black leather pants and those boots...and a few high kicks.
