TV Alert: "V" invades primetime with Elizabeth MitchellHey, do you like aliens? What if the aliens are really hot? And what if the really hot aliens are being investigated by the really hot Elizabeth Mitchell? Ah-ha, now I have your full attention.
The new alien-invasion series V premieres at 8 p.m. tonight on ABC, bringing with it critical acclaim and the return of Elizabeth’s arched eyebrows. Consider me sold. Also selling me? The first nine minutes which were released as a preview by ABC. Kind of blows “Look, up in the sky. It’s a bird, it’s a plane!” away, doesn’t it? In the series, a re-imagining of the 1983 miniseries by the same name, aliens descend en masse to Earth calling themselves the Visitors. They come promising peace and technological secrets. But cut a little deeper and they have creepy green reptilian skin and what might be a considerably more sinister agenda.
In the new version the gorgeous Morena Baccarin plays Anna, the Visitor’s soothing-voiced leader. Firefly fans will remember her as Inara Serra, a high-society courtesan who is friendly with the Serenity crew. In V she makes “Take me to your leader” look incredibly appealing, and I think that’s the point.
Fellow Firefly alum Alan Tudyk (most recently seen as Alpha on Dollhouse) stars as Elizabeth’s FBI partner and Lourdes Benedicto appears as the girlfriend of Morris Chestnut’s character. You might remember her better as Alicia, the girlfriend of Bonnie Somerville’s character on the short-lived Cashmere Mafia.
The reviews have been largely positive, with Elizabeth being called “TV’s go-to gal for strong, brainy women of action,” by Entertainment Weekly. Speaking of action, in a separate interview for Entertainment Weekly, Elizabeth reminisced about kissing Angelina Jolie in Gia, saying her lips were “Pillowy and fabulous. Honestly, you got lost in her lips. It was almost overwhelming, like a peach.”
Um, wow. Hell, I don’t even care about the aliens. I just want to watch Elizabeth and fantasize about her kissing pillowy peach lips. So, what do you think? Are on sold on V? Are you ready for more Elizabeth? Submitted by on November 3, 2009 - 3:00pm. |

sounds good
Liz Mitchell
no kidding... "Photoshop overkill" lol!
"Photoshop overkill" -- sounds like a bitchin' band name!
But really, first thing I thought when the pic loaded was "YIKES -- who cooked her eyes?!?!" Not to mention the rest of her face... sheesh, why can't photo editors just leave things well enough alone? So gorgeous, doesn't need messing about...
Anyway, just had to get that outta my system, lol.
yeah, i'm kind of excited
p.s. I think she said "overwhelming, like a peach," not "overwhelmingly like a peach," but I'll just have to look at the magazine again when I get home. You know, for the purposes of fact-checking — not for anything else. Ahem.
Thank you, my long-lost editor

The Original V
It's been ages (a kid ago) that I've seen the original show V. It scared the heck out of me. I wonder if they are going to keep the original premise of V in the new one. So far it looks good.
twitter me @ www.twitter.com/brownskinfaery
it'll probably get me hooked
yeah i remember the original series too...even though i was 6 or 7! i loved it! years later i realized why i liked that alien leader bitch "Diana" so much ;-)
let's see what the new one has got to offer! elizabeth is already a big + !!!
i'm going to miss it
I'm Watching...
For Elizabeth Mitchell, Morena Baccarin and Alan Tudyk. What a cast!!
Elizabeth is great in everything she does. I noticed her even before "Gia" and would always stop and watch any TV show she was in.
Ever since I saw Morena in "Firefly", I thought she was one of the most beautiful women I'd ever seen. And it didn't hurt that her character, Inara, had both male and female clients. Loved that!!
Alan Tudyk is outstanding. "Firefly" aside (in which he stole my heart), his Alpha in "Dollhouse" was off the wall. The change from mild mannered geek to the Big Bad was a total surprise because he gave nothing away. What an actor!
Add other actors, like Joel Gretsch, Lourdes Benedicto and Morris Chestnut and I think it's going to be a good show. Let's hope the writers live up to the cast.
Peace, Joy and Love
Whew...
I had my PVR set the moment I saw Elizabeth Mitchell!!! :P I need my fix, with Lost not returning till "early 2010"...
This has either the potential to be really bad or really good. I hope for the latter :)
I'm excited for this show!
I hope...

Absolutely!
drooling overwatching Ms. Mitchell, too! Will there be guinea pigs?
Like in the original series, when the beautiful-but-evil Diana unhinges her snake-like jaws and swallows the little sucker whole? Yum! And Elizabeth Mitchell is double-yum.

Good Start
Just saw the first episode, and loved it. They dive right into the story. I love the pace of the show. Morena Baccarin is already hot but see looks gorgeous and sinister in V plus I love the new haircut.

I'm not usually into Sci-fi, but I'm a sucker for strong female characters.

I rememeber being able to
That first photo is scaring me...
Just watch her photo shoot
Yes please!
Morena
Elizabeth Mitchell is hot, but for me, you can't beat Morena Baccarin for total gorgeousness. If I watch, it'll be for her (still sad about her haircut, though).
I'm looking forward to V
