Is Hilary Swank hot?

Who here loves The Office?

Me, too. Part of the show’s brilliance is its ability to find comedy fodder in the everyday things that happen at most offices. Such was the case with one of the running storylines in last week’s episode, “Prince Family Paper.”

It started with a newspaper article, “Is Hilary Swank Hot?” Naturally, everyone had an opinion.

Jim, wanting to get the crew back to work, suggested they put the question to a vote. But since the result was five to five, the only choice was to have a full-on debate, giving each side three minutes to present its case. Of course, it lasted the rest of the day, giving the Dunder Mifflin characters a chance to remind us why we watch.

At one point Jim, making the case for “hot,” almost convinces Kevin to change sides.

Oscar presents a PowerPoint slide demonstrating the symmetry of Swank’s face.

His conclusion: she is attractive, but not hot. Oh, Oscar. You are so gay. Unless, of course, “symmetry” means something completely different than I think.

This deleted scene gets to the nitty-gritty of the arguments:

Master debaters, indeed.

Of course, the question of Hilary’s hotness has captivated the cybersphere, even sparking the launch of a site dedicated to finding the answer.

Shes hot but I always find her a bit.. too sincere in a "I grew up in a trailer but I had a dream and now I have an oscar" type way. But I´m a very cinical person so dont mind me. I´m sure shes lovely and i do appreciate all the effort she has put in to her abs, I´ll give her that.

I watched The Next Karate Kid yesterday, and I was kind of blown away by how... homely she looked. However, she was the female star in that movie and I was trying to figure out why. Then it happened.

There is a scene where she is talking to a guy (who is walking in a train), asking him to feed her bird while she is gone. He is teasing her about missing him, and she gets the most adorable look on her face that I could only wish was directed at me. Its hard to describe, just go check that movie out and fast forward through all of the monk scenes. :)

Oh yes! And she was great on Ellen where she mimicked her dancing. Hilarious! She looked great with short hair as well. Love her.

By the way, a lesser-known movie she starred in 'The Freedom Writers' is a really great movie based on a true story. You should all see it.

And I am so looking forward to her playing Amelia Earhart in that upcoming movie as well.

I may be in the vast minority here, but I personally do not find Hilary Swank attractive at all. She is extremely talented and can hold her own in a movie and that's all that matters to me.

If truth be told, many of Hollywood's best and brightest are very average looking, sometimes even unattractive. Case in point Sean Penn and Tom Hanks (who I'd go straight for in a heatbeat!)

She definitely gets my vote. There are very few movies of hers that I dont absolutely love. Quite a few of her movies are favorites of mine: Iron Jawed Angels, Boys Dont Cry, Million Dollar Baby...the list goes on and on

I went to vote with every intention of voting "hot" from the pics on the blog but the picture of her in the website immediatly changed my mind. She is a great actress but can go from hero to zero a little to easy to be really and truly a total hottie.

However saying that I have been saying to everyone how not hot I think she is for years.

She's 100% the whole package....smart, talented, beautiful, strong, driven, and compassionate. Intelligence is incredibly sexy, and she's got it. You can definitely keep your dime-a-dozen blond implant Hollywood bimbos that seem to be multiplying and taking over the magazine racks more quickly than you can say Botox. That does nothing for me.
