2009 Hot 100 Preview: ALICIA KEYSSinger-turned-actress Alicia Keys came in at number 64 on last year's list. It could have been her role in The Secret Life of Bees, or the single "No One" still going around in our heads from her album, As I Am, but we just couldn't get her out of our brains.
In the past year, she's been up for Grammys and an NAACP Award, so it's no surprise she made it somewhere on our list again for 2009.
With several films and other projects in the work for the rest of this year (including a film adpation of the book Compositions in Black and White), it's no doubt she will continue to be hot with AfterEllen.com readers.

Difference betweeen hot and beautiful
Alicia Keys is definitely very, very beautiful, but to me, she's not that hot, which is why she didn't make my list. That's kind of my problem with nominating women for the list, some women are definitely beautiful but not hot in my eyes (Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, Sandra Bullock, to name a few). But I can see why she made the list :-)! I can't wait to see who made the top spot this year, I'm thinking Alicia might easily be in the top 50

do you actually it so literally? oh.. perhaps I should :S i always just voted those i had crushes on, not neccessarily those who I thought were 'hottest' e.g. Willow (okay Alyson) I would not say is hottest, but she's way up there on my list...
anyhoozels, Alicia's not my type and i barely know her, not on UK TV much as far as i can tell but she's on Singstar and in her Falling song her nose is all pink at the end!! ^.^ which I did think was kinda cute

I think Alicia Keys is kinda cute and I like her smile, but the HUGE quantity of make-up she always wears (I'm pretty sure she's a tough competitor for Oprah in that category!) is a turn-off for me.
And considering my 23 years of age, I found it odd when I realized that most of the women I voted for are over 30... oO Never knew I had a thing for the ladies in the truer meaning of the word. =P

I'm still not convinced that first pic is of her. Ever since she did the 'girled up' thing, she's come out (come out, snicker. if only) with too much clown makeup and it DOES NOT look cute or isn't at all needed.

I think Alicia is very hot! I totally like her smooth laidback attitude and deep voice when talking. she´s also very talented and graceful and disciplined. aaand curvy :) I have a thang for women of mixed races too. very pretty.
Mixed feelings...
She was one of my very first crushes (Fallin' came out the year I was twelve). I adored her for years, but went right off her after Smokin' Aces and several homophobic comments. However, the other night at the club they were playing music videos from the year 2002 (which totally filled me with glee), and I felt OK rocking out to Girlfriend, because back then, Alicia Keys wore less makeup and more awesome hats, and if she was homophobic, then at least she kept her mouth shut about it.
So, yes. Pre-Smokin' Aces, Alicia Keys was the epitome of a smokin' hottie. Now, not so much. Very occasionally I still think she's attractive, but now, instead of swooning, I shriek, "Stop tempting me, you evil succubus!"
