Alexi's Closet: Stereotypical Style (Episode 34)This week on Alexi's Closet, Alexi attempts to reinvent the lesbian "stereotype." She explores the typical clothing that people sometimes assume that gay women wear.
After modeling that look, she reveals what the stereotype would look like if it were trendy in today's fashion world. She also ponders which look would get her more phone numbers. Alexi's Closet (Episode 34)

The Shane-ish hats are just great. I've been looking for a nice one here and there, but they just don't look so old-fashioned as that one. :)

It's not working for me either. Help please
a mejor manera de librarme de la tentación es caer en ella
Personally, I think you
Personally, I think you shouldn't dress up to "look like a lesbians". though I've done it myself, I never went the whole way with a wife-beater or something similar, just used som "lesbian-ish" jewelry... But I just don't think it's right to try and pretend to be something you aren't. Like, I'm femme-looking and I can't do much about it. I dress really casual most of the time, but I don't think anyone would ever think that I might be queer. Even if I wear men's clothes, most people don't realize it.
And I've learned to accept it. Sometimes I wish I could look "more gay" myself, but I just don't want to feel uncomfortable in the clothes I'm wearing.
I loved you're humour, though, and that cute hat, but I kinda like you more when you're femmy. ;)
Whoooopi!!
It's finally working now!! I defo think the second look was much better. And 100% agree with the statement above. I don't think you have to dress like a lesbian to be a lesbian if that make sense lol...But thought you rocked both styles =)
"Too Do Is To Dare"
I think both looks are
Interesting analysis,
but I spot a slight flaw in your reasoning. You see to me, looking good is picking a style that works for you. Not everyone can make a fedora look good, and the same goes for trucker hats. There are girls who just look like magma incarnate (that is to say, HOT) in trucker hats, plaid shirts (the big ones), cargo shorts (dude, those skinny jeans SO don't work with the hat&shirt ;-P ) and Converse/Birkenstocks. Other girls look like hell in the aforementioned outfit but look hot as all hell in a fedora, cute girly shirt, skinny jeans and strappy (possibly even shiny) shoes.
It's all in your personal style and how you work the clothes.
Also: I love it when a girl mixes her metaphors. For example: Converse, cargo shorts/baggy men's jeans, cute 'girly' shirt and a fedora. Or most any combo of any style imaginable. It shows originality, which is a huge plus for me, personally. It takes a certain type of person to pull off a singular look, but anyone can and will look good if they wear their own style.
(also: I can't believe I'm commenting on FASHION of all things. My friends&family would laugh their bleedin' heads off if they saw this X-D )
I like my women like I like my poetry: strong, beautiful and rhythmic
Couldn't agree more.
Couldn't agree more. Everyone needs to find what works for THEM. I mention that in almost all of my vlogs. And I wasn't wearing skinny jeans!
;)
The second look was hot.
You would've definitely gotten my number. :)
