Ekaterinburg is actually a

Ekaterinburg is actually a city in Russia. Cappie mentions dinner, basketball and a shoutout to a fellow Chicagoan in her blog.

I have copies of two Spartak games on file: the first one against Famila and the latest against Fenerbache. They're in Russian, though.

(Spartak Moscow vs Familia Schio Part 1, 2, 3, 4.)

Word from the boards is that Maria Stepanova (Russia, Olymic Bronze Beijing 08) was released by CSKA Moscow and signed with UMMC Ekaterinburg. The news hasn't been confirmed yet (and doesn't make a lick of sense), but this move would make Ekaterinburg even scarier.

Spartak, UMMC and CSKA won't be meeting each other for games anytime soon, because they're in different groups. Once elimination rounds start, then the schedules will be posted. (ETA: As reported by the Hammonites, CSKA plays Ekaterinburg on December 14 and Spartak Moscow on December 21.)

Latest in on Spartak from the Russian SuperLeague: they won against Nadezhda Orenburg 89-70. Diana Taurasi led Spartak with 16 points (4/8 FG, 2/2 3FG, 2/2 FT), 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Sue Bird had 12 points, Sylvia Fowles 11, Lauren Jackson 9.

Once again I love the vlog!

Once again I love the vlog! I miss the WNBA :( I believe if I remember correctly Becky's contract was 3 mil over 3 years. I've decided that since my home state no longer has a WNBA team I'm going next summer to take a vacation and go to a game. It'll definately be a San Antonio game however I'm not 100% sure I'll go to San Antonio. But I'm thinking that's most likely where I'll go. Although going to Seatle  would be cool too or going to LA and chearing against them would be kinda fun too I don't know I guess I have a few months to decide. Anyway I'm really excited and can't wait!!

Russian clubs info

The Hammonites are doing a pretty good job of keeping up with the Euroleague and Russian Superleague games. It's mostly CSKA, Spartak and UMMC info, but that's all we care about anyway.

Plus, they are uploading games to the message board too.

okay kids

I made my google map public. maybe it will help. I distilled a bunch of websites for my favorite players (mostly storm, sky, liberty and lynx) and the big3 Russian teams. It helps me keep everyone organized since all the info is spread out and/or needs to be translated from various languages. It keeps me sane and saves time.

I keep updating as I find new sites or players so let me know if you want me to add anyone.
