i didn't find this very funny...it's kind of making fun of all of us femme girls. ://///

It IS making fun of femme

It IS making fun of femme girls. Although I'm a femme, I still think it's funny. I don't find it offensive. I think it's making fun of the butch girl as much as the femme. Maybe you should be a femme with a sense of humor.

It is NOT making fun of femme girls -- Feminism 101

I'm (one of) the femmest of them all, and I would NEVER read that misogynistic crap magazine.  THAT MAGAZINE is making fun of femme girls, actually all females (and laughing all the way to the bank); the comic is making fun of people who try to achieve that fembot image.  I would never keep that thing in my apartment either.  It's degrading to all women.  It doesn't just make fun of women, it oppresses them.  Just another tool of the patriarchy.

Yeah, to say this is making

Yeah, to say this is making fun of femme girls is kind of ridiculous. I think it's more of a comment on the fact that there are a lot of things that are seemingly 'taboo' to lesbians, and a subscription to Cosmo is one of them -- not because it's a "femme" magazine, but because it promotes unsavory things like mindless consumerism, weight and "beauty" obsession, low self-esteem, and misogyny. Not to mention the fact that other than those reasons, it's a magazine that is supposed to be for "women" but clearly only caters to straight women.

That having been said -- this totally happened to me the other day. A straight friend brought over a cosmo and left it, and when a gay friend saw it she made fun of me mercilessly for it!
