Kristin Bauer could play the next lesbian vampire on "True Blood"Last week, True Blood creator Alan Ball talked with The Advocate about future gay characters on the hit HBO series. The show has already featured a handful of queer characters, including Vampire Queen Sophie-Ann (Evan Rachel Wood, her lover Hadley (Lindsey Haun), the fabulous fry cook/drug dealer Lafayette and season 1's Eddie.
Ball said: We'll be meeting the vampire king of Mississippi and his long, long-term companion — and by long-term I mean really long-term — Talbot. I think Lafayette may meet a love interest, and certainly Pam, who works with Eric, she's certainly got a lesbian vibe — I don't know that that's all she is, but she certainly does seem to appreciate the women.
Pam is played by Kristin Bauer, who serves as Eric's wingwoman at the vampire bar, Fangtasia. Her interests included fancy pumps, showing no mercy and now, apparently, the bar maid, Ginger. "I wouldn't be surprised," Bauer said about Pam going for women. "I think she's pansexual. ... There are so many hot [women on the show], but I'll pick Ginger. Ginger's hot. Ginger's fun. She's a screamer and she's a blood donor." Ginger, being put to work As for Sophie-Ann, Ball said that there will be something between her and her lover's cousin Sookie, but it's most likely platonic: I think Sophie-Anne is definitely interested in Sookie; I don't believe it's for sexual or romantic reasons but she is definitely interested in Sookie and whatever it is about Sookie that is special beyond the realm of what is human, and that's something that we definitely will learn more about in the upcoming season. I am so psyched on season 3, especially if it's going to be super-Sapphic. Do you get the lesbian vibe from Pam?
I have since she first laid eyes on Sookie — but then again, everyone seems to have eyes for that girl. Submitted by on November 3, 2009 - 10:00am. |

True Blood
My friends have been trying to get me into this show for the past two seasons and I've resisted. I watched the pilot episode and I wasn't impressed at all. It is kind of cool that the show features many queer characters though and from what I've heard, it's not a big deal. They work it into the story so it's kind of a non-issue, which I really like...well from what I've heard that is.
Now that the hype has simmered I might give it a shot...but I'm going to catch up on Dexter first.
True Blood is a great
Dexter...
I'm with ya, Trish
I've been waiting for Pam to get some more screen time; she's a hoot! I think she's a big ol' dyke, too!
Love the show. Love it!
True Blood Grlz
Ooh pam
Ever since I first saw her in Fangtasia I said 'that gal is definitely sapphic...and if not i want her to be' the fangtasia vamps are probably my favourite scenes, but as Ive only just finished season one i have yet to see pam get sapphic...hope it goes well.
true blood really is a good show, not just for its representation of all things queer but its just good...which is rare these days.

Pam
She's definitely queer in the books and it would be disappointing if they don't acknowledge that on the show! And i'm excited to see how they portray the King of Mississippi and his harem...I hope it'll be queertastic!
But either way i love this show and I can't wait for next season!
Pam and Queen Sophie-Anne
Sookie/ TB
I'd love to see Sookie engage in something with the Queen.
even though the Queen's current lover is Sookie's cousin, lol. Sophie totally had soemthing going on there for Sookie,
I do think Pam is a lesbian, totally.
after Godric, I thought Eric was gay, but he's got eyes for Sookie, he's weird. lol.
I won't spoil the season 3rd season but
with Bill kidnapped at the end of season 2. Some interesting things do take place with Eric and Sookie.
I love Jessica even though she is a spoiled brat of a vampire. It's the red hair that makes me swoon
Friendship follows Fearlessly. Never Blindly. Never Lightly.
So you have read the books.
So you have read the books. I just started reading them and I have a few questions...
the show is only loosely
the show is only loosely based on the book series - no help in predicting story lines or character/plot development
which makes the show awesome in it's own right - Charlaine Harris rules!
Pam in the books
I've read up to Definitly Dead
But I devour books like these in two days. 3 days tops. So I relaxed and started reading other books. But if you have a question ask. I will answer
Friendship follows Fearlessly. Never Blindly. Never Lightly.
True Blood and Dexter are
i wish they would follow the books more
pam is definitely a lesbian in them and she would not go for a human bar maid! also, eric is kinda queer in the books.
the show needs better writing. that mary-ann story line was so stupid and took up most of the season.
also, i wish the faeries were in it. i read all 10 books in about 2 weeks. now i have to wait til may for the next one.
Oh yeah, the faeries are
but its also nice to have
I'm onto the 8th book so
I'm onto the 8th book so far, and realise how much the tv show has separated from the books. I love the whole fairy thing cause it would be good to see who they would cast as Claudine. But I think the show would loose viewers if it included all of the supes from the book, including demons etc. It hasn't set it self up like Buffy to get away with it.
I love that the show has kept Lafayette love him!
Lafayette is my comedy
She's queer in the books
Fourth Season
It's true everyone has eyes
