LOURDS "Astropop"

LOURDS is not only the name of the band, but also the name of their lead singer and multi-instrumentalist, Lourds Lane. She plays the violin, the fiddle and the mandolin, and she makes it rock with her bandmates.

Ahem.

I'm a lady who cannot claim to play both the fiddle and the violin. Why you ask? Because they are the same thing. The only discernible difference may or may not be the bridge of the violin (which is sometimes flatter with a fiddle to get that two-string sound).

Otherwise, I'm not really digging Lourds. Sounds a bit too 90's rock for me. But thank you for the recommendation!

Or you could say that fiddle is a style of playing violin, much like classical style, or rock or something. That caught my eye right away lol.

I'm a fan of the mandolin,

I'm a fan of the mandolin, but generally, not really digging these guys either. I think it might be the video:  everything about it screams "trying too hard" (pink anime pigtails? really?)  and that detracts from the music for me.

But I think this is your first music rec that I've read that I haven't liked.  Pretty good batting average, I'd say!
