NBC grants our wishes

NBC has delivered us some great news this week, as it has renewed both The Office and 30 Rock. (I know, it's shocking, really.)

Not only will The Office be returning, but so will last season's guest star Amy Ryan.

Ryan plays Holly Flax, Michael's love interest. One of the show's writers said her parts haven't been written yet, but they are hoping she'll come back for the season finale. It also sounds like they want her to stick around:

Because [Michael and Holly] have such a deep connection, I don't think she can blow in and out every so often. It would be too hard for him as a human being. So, we're hoping to find some very significant things for them. And if we can get her to sign on for a really long period, we'll do it.

In other really wonderful news, Amy Poehler's still untitled comedy from The Office writers has finally received a premiere date of Thursday, April 9. The series will air at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Even when it gets a name, I'm sure I'll still refer to it as the Untitled Amy Poehler Project. It just kind of flows, and sounds like it could win Emmys.

As for the rest of NBC's line-up, there hasn't been any official word on the futures of Life or Lipstick Jungle.

I think it's safe to say most of us would mourn the death of Sarah Shahi's show just a little bit more.

I'm so excited that Holly is coming back!!!! I love her!

I feel you

Holly + Michael = Awesome Dorkiness

I couldn't believe the "Employee Transfer" episode.  That totally bummed me out.  It's high time Michael found a dork for him.  I love Melora Hardin but her character is one pill short of complete psycho.  (Not the fun psycho, the will-burn-your-Dundees-and-cry-hysterically-in-remorse-seconds-later psycho.)

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

According to NBC's website

Life is supposed to air new episodes Wednesday, Feb 4th.  So it's not ended yet.  :)

In an article about Lipstick Jungle NOT being cancelled, it says that there's still hope for Life: http://www.tvguide.com/News/Lipstick-Jungle-Alive-1001688.aspx

Yip yip!

So excited that "30 Rock" was renewed yet again! As much as I, and many others, love this show and particularly Tina Fey...I was worried the lack in audience would spell its doom.

Finally NBC does something right (for a change).

Woot, awesome news.

Woot, awesome news.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but The Office took a little while to pick up an audience, so did Scrubs and Earl.  So I'm pleased they are going to renew 30 Rock.  I'm not a big fan of Office, I know I might be the only one sadly.

I'm not a big fan of The Office either, so you're not alone. I watch it occasionally if there is nothing else on, but I love 30 Rock. I'm constantly on hulu.com rewatching eps.

Whew, glad I'm not the only one haha.

Though I do duck and run (crawl) for cover around a friend that's obsessed with the show.

Seriously, 30 Rock and The Office are the only shows keeping NBC from fully tanking. I need to see more Kelly Kapoor in this season before I can get really excited about another season.

Happy for 30 Rock, but...

Any news on Chuck?

I've loved The Office from the first episode.

Amy Ryan was a great addition to the cast.  I couldn't believe when Holly was shipped off.  It's good to know she's coming back.  The Office Rocks!  I can't say the same for 30 Rock though.  Can't get into it.  The characters make me want to smack them and tell them to grow up.

Obvious comment in 3, 2, 1...

Yay for The Office.   :-)     Glad to hear Holly will be back - she's awesomely dorky.
