When i read that, I was like, "What!?!?!" Then I remembered that's what straight people do all the time. Church is the second biggest meat market; right under bars/clubs.
my neighbors!
Pew hopping replaces bar hopping?
Holy canole, what a great segment! Wish I lived near Greenpoint!!! Once upon a time, I found religion in the name of finding a partner. I, too, met a lot of really nice gay guys (and lesbians!) but no luck finding my soul mate. Ironically, I found her in a bar -- go figure! Anyhoo, 10 years later, we're still going strong and enjoying an open and affirming congregation in our area! Nice to see this vlog going strong!
interesting series
If you are looking for more
If you are looking for more in depth interviews you should check out the audio series of Oh God I'm Gay at http://feeds.feedburner.com/OhGodImGay. There is an interview with Rabbi Steven Greenberg who is an out Orthodox Jew. He talks with me about his book "Wrestling With God And Men" in which he breaks down the scriptures and his beliefs about homosexuality in the bible. You can check it out here:

It's 42 minutes long so you might want to download and take your time with it :) He's a great speaker.
Enjoy!

This vlog is so useful and
Really enjoying the vlog
Hey Alicia
Just wanted to add how much I'm enjoying the vlog too. I'm from the UK and grew up in the Irish Catholic tradition, went to convent school, the whole thing. It's only been recently that I can see how the doctrine caused massive harm to my self-esteem and my abandonment of my spirituality. Although I am not sure where I stand in terms of my spirituality now, I know there are people worth listening to in "the church" and your vlog is a testament to humanity and dignity for all.
