Shontelle says she could easily fall for Alicia KeysPop singer Shontelle recently took 12 random questions from the site Neon Limelight, and one of them was, of course, "Who is your girl crush?"
The 24-year-old singer, whose single "T-Shirt" was a hit over the summer, answered with a laugh:
In the past, I have to admit, I've been annoyed with the "girl crush" question, or mostly, the way that the media turned a simple statement into a "lesbian confession." But with answers like the one Shontelle gave, I might have a change of heart. When straight women answer the "girl crush" question with an fun, lighthearted spirit, it's a subtle kind of support, in a way. I appreciate the openness that straight celebrities seem to have in the way of answering these types of hypothetical or irrelevant questions. Shontelle chose Alicia Keys (a lesbian favorite) for her awesome talent and the camaraderie they would have. That's an awesome reason for a girl crush, or a crush on anyone at all.
The singer also said that if she could have anyone cover one of her songs, it would be our bisexual pop star Lady Gaga: It would be really cool just because Lady Gaga is so freakin’ cool and she is so versatile herself, it would be really amazing to hear Lady Gaga do a song like “Life Is Not An Easy Road” or like a reggae song. That would be really awesome. That would be so cool. And to see her sit and play it on the piano, that would be really, really interesting. I don’t think there’s anything Lady Gaga can’t do.
A cover, or perhaps, a duet. Now get Alicia Keys in on that for a Submitted by on November 4, 2009 - 1:00pm. |

I don't blame her
Im not suprised she chose
Alicia Keys is a great pick
In spite of her adulterous
In spite of her adulterous ways, Alicia could still get it.
I don't rememeber this T-Shirt song, I'll have to look it up
Alicia Keys is why her answer seemed real
"It would probably be
"It would probably be Alicia... she could just play the piano for me and I would just cry and sit there. She wouldn’t even have to touch me. I would just be like I love you. I’m in love."
I don't know who Shontelle is but she took this quote right out of my mouth!
-------
"You can not pray away the gay!"--- Callie Torres
Eh
What did she say ? coz
but later
Oh yeah, nice one
Oh yeah, nice one Shontelle!! Alicia is a foxy, deep, intellectual babe! and has had my heart ever since I saw her debut Fallin' on Oprah back in the day. I love Shontelle's style of music, she's form Barbados, does Reggae and pop songs and mixes up her style and accents in her music too thus broadening her fan base. Her song, "Focus Pon Me", first heard it while working at Express cothing store...I mean if there playing her reggae hot tunes then yuh done know, she's going places!! Big up to the Caribbean crew!! :)
SdQ Out!
Alicia's okay but
.
I think Alicia is very pretty but she's not being honest. I mean when she first came out she had this great swagger about herself. Now shes trying to be this glamour girl pop star. It's just not her and I think her music isn't as good as it was when she first came out.....I still think she's a lesbian because she's trying to hard to act straight.
Sorry but I call it like I see it!!! But she still is a good choice.
I'm in total agreement on
I'm in total agreement on all points.
Her video for'Girlfriend' came on today and it was interesting seeing old ALicia vs current Alicia. All things considered, I miss the old one
Did she ACTUALLY coem out as
Did she ACTUALLY coem out as gay/bi or is this wishiful thinking? =/
And you're right, i did notice her swagger was gone recently. I don't know why, but she isin't like that anymore (and that was the reason I thought she was hot in the first place!)
What did she say that was homophobic?? :(
WORD!
I did hear Alicia was into girls a long time ago, and was seen at a club getting very close to someone that could have been her girl friend at the time.
Her tomboyish ways are gone yes, and its part of her but not all that she it. Her publicist I'm sure and stylist has all changed her to be more acceptable to all classes and genres, in attempts to boost popularity and make her more mainstream and "acceptable." Granted she is hella sexy but I will always miss the braids and b-girl style she use to rock.

Alicia Keys
I want her. Haha.
"She wouldn’t even have to touch me. I would just be like I love you. I’m in love."
keys is something else...
My ex, she bumps into Keys in the lobby of her workplace in 2003. There's a few radio stations in the same building. My ex had short hair at the time, femme but gaydar would pick her up, namean... So she's completely at a loss for words, asks for Keys' autograph. Keys signs something.
Then the ex blurts out, "funny, I had a dream about you last night." (right, nice going ex, couldn't think of a smoother/creepier line.) But Keys responds with a coy smile and says "Maybe you dreamt me into your life". WTF!?! She doesn't appear to me when i dream about her! Point being though, folks, that's beyond being down-to-earth. Man, that response is straight-up queer and bordering on pick-up line. I don't think straight girls would be quick to say that kind of stuff... that is, if I believed in straight girls.
baby gaga
I dunno who Shontelle is..
but her snatchin up Alicia shouldn't be too hard. lol

If I were a lesbian for a day...
If I were a lesbian for a day, which I am pretty much everyday (except for Wednesdays. I'm purely asexual on Wednesdays. No reason, just am.) I would have Alicia Keys play the piano for me also.... But she would have to touch me. Not all of me, just like my elbow or something and I would be happy.

lady gaga
Wow, I would love it if Lady Gaga did a feature on a reggae song, that'd be real tight.
Who wouldn't fall for Alicia
Who wouldn't fall for Alicia to be honest? I love her song Superwoman. Legend.
