the bliss of new love

The planned u-haul relationships work great. You have time to prepare. It is more exciting because you you are both involved in building your home together. The whole process can be very romantic.

I have also had the surprise u-haul when I came home from work. My gf and I barely knew each other after only a few dates. It was way too soon. It was not romantic because I had no part in the choice to live together. This relationship only lasted 7 months.

U-haul

I really enjoy this new segment. They are wonderful together.

We moved in together after 10 years of living apart. I had some bad experiences with U-hauling too fast ;( So this last time it took me 10 years to decide we really could live together without any major issues.... let me say the first year living together was still a challenge! And indeed we redecorated and refurnished a great deal of my/our apartment. Anything to make her feel at home. Very good advice. In 3 of the relationships I lived together I just moved in without redecorating/refurnishing..... could that be a factor?

Looking forward to the next episode. Keep up the good work, ladies.

Great episode

Enjoyed last weeks as well.

I think you both have good advice when it comes to relationships and that's good since it is kinda the point here with this vlog haha. But i find myself wondering on both of them, how long have you been together? And you said you waited a while before moving in together? Well how long was that?

Look forward to the next episode! Have a great week! :D

I've enjoyed both episodes

I've enjoyed both episodes too! Thanks for being the kind of women who obviously talk it all out and analyze shit... Had I seen either of these episodes prior to my last relationship it might not have ended quite so violently lol

LOL, agree, U-Haul ep second

LOL, agree, U-Haul ep second ep in, haha

JUST figured who Jessica reminds me of. Sophia Myles!! In an ep of Doctor Who, dated David Tennant (lucky!), don't usually crush on blondes but.. Anyways, that was tough to figure out, you don't look alike! It's in your accent (really unusual accent, really nice though, the kind of english accent where even I'm like, 'ahh I love your lovely english accent!' even though I'm english too. but anyways, your speech and mannerisms.. so similar to how she is in interviews (but not when she's acting).

Love your show!!

Always so excited to catch it. You guys are awesome!!!!  Do more shows please!

cool new vlog

You guys are awesome!

I'm gonna geek out on your show set up though ( constructive stuff only!)

I like that you guys are going all out with the three camera set up but the framing is all off - the middle camera is great with the wide shot so that's cool keep that it works well!  The camera on Jessica is alright it could be a little tighter b/c Lacey keeps getting into frame and that's awkward (sometimes we only see half her face). The camera on Lacey needs some work - it needs to be much tighter like Mid-shot just like it was on Jessica (same issues of Jessica getting into frame) or close up.

It's tough to do a three camera set up when you guys are sitting on a couch - it would be better if you guys were on chairs angled toward each other - But since it's about you guys being together I understand the couch. I guess just vary the shots with more close ups on the two side cameras if possible. Close up also help in getting good reaction shots where we focus on one person and not distracted by half of someone's nose in the shot.

If anything too just having a wide shot of you guys would be awesome - keeping it simple like most of the other vlogs do on the site. It's about what you are telling us not necessarily about doing neato cut on action editing.

and I'M DONE!

Friends that U-haul

My best friend is thinking about u-hauling across state lines! I am totally freaked out by the fact that she and her new girlfriend have only known each other for about 3 months and the relationship just started about a month ago.  I have talked with her about this but she is totally smitten and doesn't want to believe that she might be rushing into this.  I just hope that she doesn't move over 1500 miles away and realizes to late that this might not be the best idea.  I need some good news!  Has anyone had a friend or have themselves done this with any sucess?
alice's picture

I have seen it work

I know of two relationships that worked out from 900+ miles apart. One lasted 6 years the other 8 years.

What helped both relationships survive was travel was fairly frequent early on.

u-hauling

jessica and lacey are great (and adorable together), but they missed the point on this one.  i believe the main reason women often move in together too soon is because we are conditioned by society to believe there's something wrong with us if we're not in a relationship.  many of us want relationships so badly that we jump in head first, eyes closed, before we really know each other. why not savor the time together and enjoy our independence, too?  honoring each other's independence and alone time is crucial to building lasting relationships.  slow down!
Gemini's picture

uh no?

I dont think that its society that drives lesbians to 'U-Haul'.  Otherwise straight couples would do it too, or gay men.  Then again, I'm still young, so idk lol

Yay

Great Ep

My gf and I are moving in, and we keep putting it off, her for one reason me for another.  It's been over a year now and we think we are truly ready.  I have moved in first and she will move in after I settle, but now that I've settled it's going to be hard to give up the space!  Even so, I'm sure it will work out as we've communicated that we both need alone time, from time to time to do our own individual things that keep us each seperate people.  We both have different hobbies and different friends.

Great job!  Looking forward to the next subject.. Wish I knew what it was already! :)

Knowledge is Power.  Believe in yourself.

wonderful new series

Lacey simply cracks me up with her "hello world" or "let me tell you something, that's the movies - there is no real happily ever after!"  Love the animated running commentary.

haha

I love this vlog!!!

My ex and I started off as flatmates, so even missed the u-haul stage, which was a terrible way to start a relationship!!! We did last 3-years, but lost a lot of the mystery too soon!!!!!!! You guys are so so right about that. I have totally learnt my lesson. I am going to take it slow slow slow with any future partners. haha (although i can imagine getting carried away!)

Making the place yours together

Love that advice. It's never a good idea to move in to your girlfrend's place and feeling like it's all hers. Move stuff around, change some furniture and paint. Or just get a new flat together.

I'm officially a thread killer.
