Best. Lesbian. Week. Ever. (March 28, 2008)The entire AfterEllen.com staff is traveling this week, so unfortunately this is going to be a very short BLWE. Sorry! But we'll be back with our regularly scheduled programming next Friday. MIND, BODY AND BINGO
She has supposedly signed on to play a lesbian bingo-caller in the indie British film Snappers, which stars Chloe Howman as an actress who flees to a local caravan park to get away from the paparazzi while filming on location in Torbay, Devon. Joss says the role will be a big stretch for her:
We understand, Joss. It would be challenging to play a bingo caller. You have to think on your feet, have good conflict management skills (What if more than one person calls "bingo"?), and not drop the ball (literally). And doing all that while french kissing at the same time? Inconceivable! I just wish we knew what or who she was kissing, because "it won't be with a male" leaves so many other options. The mind boggles ... EVERY PICTURE TELLS A STORY, DON'T IT? Charzette "Charlie T" Torrence The tour includes portraits of people such as poet Staceyann Chin, NBA star John Amaechi and HIV activist June Washington. Check the news section on JustAsWeAreTour.org to keep an eye on when it might be coming to a city near you. POUR SOME SUGAR ON ME
Here's the premise:
Sounds promising ... and by "promising," I mean trashtastic — and hopefully not in a Shot at Love With Tila Tequila way. Check out the trailer: Gimme Sugar trailer
Good news for our international readers (and American readers who don't get Logo) — we'll be running every episode in its entirety on AfterEllen.com the same day it debuts on the channel. Unlike our video blogs, there will probably be short commercials before these videos, but someone has to pay for all the booze consumed on this show each week. (Don't worry, this won't stop us from making fun of Gimme Sugar every week, just like we do for every other lesbian show on TV. All three of them.) Look for the first episode to debut on AfterEllen.com and Logo on June 9, 2008. |
