Brunch With Bridget

Brunch with Maile Flanagan and Maeve Quinlan (Brunch with Bridget, Episode 40)

This week Bridget has a 3Way, of sorts, with actresses Maile Flanagan and Maeve Quinlan.

Yes, the crazy women from the naughty little online show that we all love drop by for Brunch. Maile talks about winning an Emmy for her work on PBS' Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks, and Maeve discusses the bittersweet end of her reign as Paula Carlin on South of Nowhere.

Along the way, Maile and Maeve display their voice-over skills, argue over who is the most difficult to work with, andwhen they can remember them pimp their upcoming projects.

Along the way, Bridget defames Page's dog, Page mocks Nisha's spiritual practices, and together they develop the future hit television show, Is This Rancid?

Brunch with Sandra Valls (Brunch with Bridget, Episode 38)

Feeling naughty? So is comedian Sandra Valls. She has a reputation for causing trouble with her risqué comedy stylings, and she lives up to her legend this week on Brunch.

Bridget talks to Sandra about how she got her start in comedy, her role models, and how to remove a woman's bra in three seconds or less. Sandra is even kind enough to give a demonstration, so take notes because there will be a quiz after the show!

This week Bridget is joined once again by Ghostella's Haunted Tomb writer/director Stacie Ponder. In this sequel to their first BWB episode, "Night of the Living Brunch," Bridget and Stacie survive fog machine mishaps, discuss their favorite memories from Halloweens past, and play with a severed head.

Stacie also gives us a sneak preview of the upcoming season finale of Ghostella's Haunted Tomb, which features a Very Special Guest whose identity is sure to shock and delight you!

Brunch with Guinevere Turner (Brunch with Bridget, Episode 36)

This week Bridget is joined by writer/director/actress Guinevere Turner, known for starring in Go Fish (1995), playing Alice's ex Gaby on The L Word, and writing the movies American Psycho and The Notorious Bettie Page.

Guinevere talks about these, her short films, and gives us a sneak peek into the final season of The L Word. (Here's a hint: As Tina Turner would say, "The Bitch is Back.")

Before the pillows fly, Guinevere brags about her masterful five-finger discount at Rite Aid, and directs Baby Bridget in a straight sex scene (something none of us ever need to see again).

Brunch with Erin Foley (Brunch with Bridget, Episode 35)

Last Comic Standing contestant Erin Foley graces Bridget's bed this week while sporting Olympic-grade knee socks.

The girls celebrate Erin's 24th birthday (she wishes), have a dance-off, and discuss dating farm animals. Hide your pigs, the girls are hungry for snout!

This week Bridget beds one of the original out comics, Suzanne Westenhoefer.

Plus, Is Suzanne really Amish? Can she make a tofu brisket? Is Bridget gay from space? You'll have to watch to find out!

Brunch with Rebecca Drysdale (Brunch with Bridget, Episode 33)

This week, Bridget welcomes the Time Traveling Lesbian herself, comedian Rebecca Drysdale.

The two of them manage to stay in the same time zone (and on the same planet) long enough to talk about Rebecca's naughty L Word rap, her obsession with Katee Sackhoff Battlestar Galactica, and her love of guys in hats (it sounds weird because it is).

Bridget and Rebecca also attempt to sing copyright-protected songs, master the art of guitar-tuning, and practice their French. And, no, not on each other! Sheesh!

Brunch with Julie Goldman (Brunch with Bridget, Episode 32)

Castles, bottles, and gorillas. What do these random things have in common? Comedian and The Big Gay Sketch Show star Julie Goldman loves them!

Bridget returns from her hiatus and talks to Julie about all of these things, plus her comedy show Offensive Women, and why working a conventional day job fills Julie's heart with hate.

Along the way, Bridget and Julie engage in some role play, compare notes on getting fired, and have a more brutal than usual pillow fight. Did Bridget spend her vacation working on her pillow battle skills? Tune in and find out!

Brunch with Cat (Brunch with Bridget, Episode 31)

Yep, Bridget's allergic to cats, but not to the comedy stylings of Cat Davis! Cat, who will soon be hosting her own AfterEllen.com vlog, Cat On the Prowl, is a nice girl from Indiana who has a dirty mouth. We heart her for that!

Cat and Bridget discuss cheerleading, gay marriage, and picking up chicks (literally and figuratively). They also read from Cat's childhood diaries, which will make you glad that you disposed of your own years ago.

Brunch With Bridget is going on hiatus until September 21; you can catch up on previous episodes here.

Brunch with Shimmy (Brunch with Bridget, Episode 30)

This week, Bridget invites to her bed the lovely, talented and funny Cathy Shim. While Cathy has done pretty much everything (had a band, acted in Reno 911!, appeared in an Eminem video) you may know her best for her role as Roxie in the lesbian web series 3Way.

This episode starts out with a friendly jigsaw puzzle challenge but the whole thing quickly turns into a play date from Hell.

Cathy's suitcase full of stuffed animals were a lovely addition to the show, but we're not sure why she thought it was a good idea to bring actual weaponry to Brunch. (Bridget can hurt herself with a pillow, so why should she be trusted with a sword?)

Brunch with a Bear Fighter (Brunch with Bridget, Episode 29)

This week, Bridget McManus welcomes fellow Connecticut-native, out screenwriter and noted bear-fighter Julia Miranda.

Julia has written for network and cable television, but, more importantly, Julia only dates models. This week, she talks about the models, her unholy crush on Harry Potter's Hermione (calm down — she's legal now!), and she shares some unhelpful break-up tips. She also pimps her new film, Karl Rove, I Love You. And no, it's not a horror film.

Brunch with Kayla Jones (Brunch With Bridget, Episode 28)

On a recent trip to San Francisco for our travel show, You Can't Take Them Anywhere, Bridget had the good fortune to finally meet artist and graphic designer extraordinaire, Kayla Jones.

Kayla designed the header graphic you see above for Bridget's show, as well as other eye-catching images for AfterEllen.com (including the most recent graphic for the AE Hot 100, Gay Girls Who Game, YCTTA, and others).

Kayla is also a dancer and, gasp, former cheerleader! So in addition to discussing her coming out story and her adventures in art, they also have a cheer-off and do some late night interpretive dance in the hallway of the Hotel Monaco.

Along the way, they also have a memorial service for Kayla's beaver skull, Pontus. It's just as weird as it sounds.

Brunch with Cassandra (Brunch With Bridget, Episode 27)

This week while sailing through France on an Olivia river cruise, Bridget talks finance with fellow passenger Cassandra, a money manager and Chief Investment Officer.

Cassandra is full of helpful advice about how lesbians can protect ourselves financially in our relationships (no, the answer is not to get a bigger, meaner cat that can kick your ex's ass) and how to plan for the future by making smart investment decisions now.

In addition to being an occasional commentator on CNBC's After The Bell, Cassandra is also a savvy gambler and an expert on making the most of her stays in luxury hotels (let's just say that her pantry is filled with a lot of miniature toiletries, and leave it at that). Will Bridget learn to manage her money? Can a pillow-fight be rigged? Watch and learn.

Brunch in Boston (Brunch With Bridget, Episode 26)

This week while visiting Boston, Bridget talks to the woman who made Brunch possible, her mom, Diane, and her first lesbian crush, Lizzie.

Bridget and her mom talk about Bridget's athletic prowess, the Boston Red Sox, and how wicked pissah it is to have two gay daughters. Afterwards, Bridget talks to her high school pal Lizzie about the difference between archaeology and paleontology, why working as a movie usher is the path to greatness, and how Bridget's devotion to Lizzie in the typically boy-crazy teen years was less about loyalty than unrequited love.

Brunch with Bridget: Episode 26 "Brunch in Boston"

Brunch will be on hiatus next week for the July 4 holiday weekend while Bridget is in Paris with Sarah, Lori and me shooting our first international episode of You Can't Take Them Anywhere. Bridget will be back with another Brunch again on July 13. … continue reading
