Liz FeldmanCelebrities are protesting Prop. 8 – and so can youThis Saturday, Nov. 15, is a national day of protest against Proposition 8 (and similar anti-gay marriage measures across the country), and if the last week is any indication, gays and lesbians across the country will be joined by some famous faces in the fight for equal marriage rights. Despite the passing of anti-gay marriage laws in California, Florida, and Arizona last week, the encouragement and support of our straight allies hasn't ceased. In fact, it's grown ever greater in the past week. Public figures like Drew Barrymore have been protesting alongside everyday citizens, adding their voices and star power (and their own signs) to the cause.
Actress Rose McGowan showed her support for the community in a recent protest. Out celezbians like Liz Feldman and Tegan Quin joined together in protest. Submitted on November 11, 2008 at 5:00 pm Liz Feldman plays Mrs. McCainComedian Liz Feldman may not be appearing on SNL, but she's made one of the funniest political skits of the election. In the FunnyOrDie.com video, "McCain's Mom Endorses McCain," she plays presidential candidate John McCain's elderly mother. The skit is written by her friend, Jason Allen. Submitted on May 5, 2008 at 1:56 pm Brunch With Bridget: Episode 16 "Brunch with Blazers"Bridget's back in L.A. this week, with comedian extraordinaire Liz "Heart-hole" Feldman. As many of you know, Liz won four Emmys for her writing on a little program called The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which you can read about in her recent interview with AfterEllen.com. But in addition to being a famous writer, Liz is also a semi-professional photographer and a staunch blazer advocate. Watch and learn. I don't know which of Liz's moments I liked best in this episode: describing the Basic Instinct-in-a-cardboard box incident, showing us her teen comedy headshots, or actually making Bridget blush.
Regardless, Bridget has clearly met her match. Bravo, Liz! Bravo! You can find out more about Liz at MySpace.com/lizinhollywood. Submitted on April 20, 2008 at 4:37 am Dinah 2008 AfterEllen.com AfterNoon: Stand-UpAt last week's Dinah Shore Weekend, out comedians Jackie Jones, Liz Feldman, and Bridget McManus made us laugh us with stories about Dinah, personal revelations, and a very sweet and funny (and unusually profanity-free) lesbian sorority song Bridget Naturally, we filmed the stand-up so all of you at home could join in the fun, and because we needed more video to edit between the hours of 2am and 6am. (Sleep? Who needs sleep?!) Unfortunately, due to technical issues during Jackie's opening set (the mic didn't work), we weren't able to include her footage here, but we have most of Liz and Bridget's for your comedic enjoyment. Liz Feldman Bridget McManus Bridget being Bridget, we couldn't include her last song in our video because, well, my arm got tired from bleeping out all the f-words only a few seconds in. But you can mosey on over to Bridget's MySpace profile if you want to see the song in all its profanity-laden glory. And check out Liz's MySpace page and Jackie's MySpace page for more lesbian hilarity. Look for the improv portion of the AfterEllen.com AfterNoon in the next day or two, and more stand-up through-out the week from the Logo Comedy Cocktail Hour at Dinah. (We can sleep when we're dead!)
